Shh...

Don't tell Noah but when he is at preschool Micah has the freedom to play with whatever he wants. The best part is that it means no fighting with big brother. When we get home I ask him if he wants to play and he says, "Noah's room. Toys." He has so much fun. Usually I'm sneaky and pick up everything so he can't tell and the secret is safe with Micah and me.

Quiet

Things have been a little quiet around here and by here I mean on the blog - not our house. :) Never a dull moment around here.

On Saturday we went to Pump It Up to celebrate our friend, Sam's 4th birthday. It is a warehouse that they have filled with giant inflatable slides and bouncy castles for the kids to jump in. We had never been to one of these so I wasn't sure how it would go. It took the boys about 10 minutes to warm up and then they had a blast. It was a really fun spot for a birthday party.

It makes me laugh when Micah falls down after Noah. He copies absolutely everything his big brother does. Shawn calls him our parrot because he also repeats everything we say.

Snow Storm

Last week had me looking to Spring weather and then this morning snow, snow, snow. Boo! We are expecting 10-15" by tomorrow afternoon.

Keeping it real

I never expected all my parenting days to be warm, fuzzy and full of sunshine but boy oh boy some days are harder than others. Today is one of them.

Our Valentine's Day

We got a great present for Valentine's Day, 39 degrees. Woo hoo. One of Shawn's co-workers saw someone driving with their convertible top down. Shawn and I got some laughs out of that. The boys were thrilled to head outside in the nice weather and get into the mud puddles. They were soaked and dirty!

We finally had to go in because Micah had fallen in that puddle one too many times for his liking with no help from big bro.

Go Army! Hee hee, Micah has taken to wearing Shawn's hats.
Noah spray painting the snow.

We made treats.
We have a special visitor in town too. Grandpa Dennis is here for work and the boys have been overjoyed to have him here each night.

Identity

We frequently change lyrics to songs to be about our family. This morning the boys were singing with Shawn during breakfast while I was upstairs. I heard:

"I know a boy who likes to play with dinos, hey Noah Noah No."
"I know a boy who likes T-Rexes, hey Micah Micah Mo."
"I know a girl who likes to grocery shop, hey Mama Mama Mo."

I'm still cracking up about it because let me say that I just love grocery shopping. Ha! This goes along perfectly with the fact that every time Micah sees a laundry basket or a kitchen utensil he says "Mama's".

Valentine's Day Party

Noah had a Valentine's Day party at school yesterday. The kids made bags to collect their cards and got to open them when they got home. Noah was pretty happy with his haul. He has been reading his cards and looking at the candy and other gifts over and over. I am happy that he only has ten kids in his classroom.
Micah checking out Noah's loot.
Unfortunately this has led to many fights and tears since yesterday. Noah doesn't want to share and Micah wants to hold the candy and cards. So hard to share.

The new ultrasound photos have come a long way since I had Noah 4 years ago. I had an ultrasound on Tuesday to check on a couple of things and all is well. The tech took these photos with the 4D technology and when they came up on the screen I immediately thought they looked familiar. When I brought the pictures home Shawn said, "It looks just like the boys." It is a little crazy. We can confirm that the baby does have hair. :) Guess we will see if we have mini Shawn #3 in about 4 weeks.

Changes

Our newest house accessory. As of Monday our house is for sale. You know, since we don't have enough going on with expecting a baby in about 4 weeks. It was a hard decision for us to make because we really do love our house. However, it is not in the school district that we want and ultimately we will grow out of it so it is the right move. We need all the luck we can get as we try to keep it show ready with two little tornados.

Wood Lake

This morning we went to Wood Lake Nature Center. It is about a two minute drive from our house. Shawn runs there almost every other morning. My preference is to be there when the weather is nice so we can walk the trails and play outside but the indoor play spots are a fun place for us to hang out in the winter. Maybe someday our whole family will be snowshoeing there.

Belly

I'm not a huge fan of my own belly shots but I feel like one shot a pregnancy is necessary. So here it is. I thought it was fun to compare with the other two pregnancies at about the same time (same shirt in two out of three too).
35 weeks baby #3
Micah
Noah
Looking at the photos from my pregnancy with Noah I could not believe you young (and rested) I look. Ah, wish I would have realized that at the time. :) I gained the same amount of weight with both Noah and Micah and I'm about to surpass that with this baby so suffice it to say I'm much bigger this time around. Wouldn't it be awesome to have a lineup of ten pregnacy shots to see how similar they are? Ha, just kidding. I'll leave that to someone else.

More cupcake?

Micah is disappointed the birthday treats are gone. Yesterday he pulled the stool out of the bathroom and said "cupcake" over and over while searching the counter to no avail.

Birthday

Yesterday I was another year older. Shawn and Noah made pancakes for breakfast. Yum! Noah was so proud of them. We had a pretty ordinary day but Shawn came home early and we all went out for dinner. The boys were amazingly good and then we came home for dessert. As you can see they enjoyed their lollipops more than a piece of cake. I'm a lucky lady to be able to spend all my days with three great guys.
