Hello Baby

Introducing Wagoner baby #3.

Today I went in for my 16+ week appointment and had a quick ultrasound while I was there. Here's our little boy or girl waving (hand above the profile of face on the right side). All looks well with the baby and mom got a prescription for Zofran that will hopefully kick this sick business.

Correction

The last part of Noah's bedtime routine is a story from Shawn or me, usually Shawn tells us both one. Tonight he was telling a story about a little t-rex who wandered away from his mother and ended up in a nest of alamosaurus eggs. Shawn said that the mother alamosaurus was so upset that she tried to take a bit out of t-rex (by the way - Noah loves this type of thing...not scary to him). Suddenly Noah had a perplexed look on his face and said, "No dad, but alamosaurus is an herbivore." I snickered. Shawn corrected the story and we both said good night to our little dino expert.

Rules

We have strict rules in our house about how to use the furniture...as you will see here. :)

Fish

Last night I read Noah a book about ocean life. A line read: "A group of fish is called a school." and had an accompanying photo. Noah said, "Mom, which do you think is the teacher?" Good question my boy. Then he picked the fish he thought was the likely candidate.

Weather

Yesterday was a strange day for weather here. It was chilly and raining all morning and then in the afternoon got to 80. We spent the morning indoors playing at a local toy store and then a Target trip. The boys were stir crazy and I was counting down the minutes until nap time. Boy oh boy, were we happy to take advantage of the sunny afternoon. Straight to the park we went.

Crunching leaves on the way home.

Fall Wardrode

I am taking a page from cousin Tisha's blog about Cadyn's cute new duds. Here is Noah in his new shirt and accessories. Shawn hit a home run with these purchases. He ran several laps around the house like this and told us that he has to be careful because his socks don't have treads on them. I'm also realizing that Noah never has pants on in our pictures, he says he doesn't like them.

Potty Time

Yesterday afternoon we were driving home from a friend's house and Noah had to go to the bathroom. We were on a stretch of road with lots of little shops and not a spot with a public bathroom. He really started to get desperate and I in panic mode when I looked into the cup holder. I pulled over, got him out of the carseat and after some convincing he peed in a cup, back into the carseat and off to home we went. As we drove I looked over at the nicely contained pee, had a little chuckle and thanked God for boys.

Preschool

Today was Noah's first day of preschool. We met his teacher, Mrs. Schubloom, during a home visit last week and adore her. Actually, when we went on our first tour of the school we went into her room and I *wished* Noah would get her and sure enough he did. Yay!

He was very excited about going this morning and did a great job cooperating and the morning went off without a hitch. I have been a little worried about making it on time. Late has been my consistent arrival time since mommyhood. Shawn came with us, so the whole family was there to wish him well. I felt the sting of tears in my eyes but no crying. I think more than anything I am excited for him but also sad that this is the start of him being in school for all the rest of the time he is at home. Now our days of lounging around and having a willy nilly schedule are limited - Noah could snuggle with me in bed and read for hours in the morning. He was beaming when we picked him up. After lunch he asked me if it was time for naps, I said yes and he replied "cause I'm tired from all that running and playing I did at preschool". Tomorrow he'll be back at it.

This is how we left him, playing with the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree.
Here's how Micah spent the majority of his time, playing on Noah's work bench.

August Photo Shoot

In August we had a photo shoot with Adrienne Page. Adrienne started taking photos for us when Noah turned one and her work is just SO lovely. Every time I get our pictures I just fall in love with them. Here are my favorite twenty from the shoot. I know, I know...top 20! It is a miracle that I narrowed it down to that - I'm the mother so of course I think they are all darling. :)

Fall

The Fall weather has arrived. The boys heard our neighbor, Joy, blowing her driveway and wanted to say hi to her. Then they promptly started to jump and make a big mess of her pile of leaves and twigs. So they spent about a half hour playing, I meaning raking and cleaning. They had fun and Joy had fun watching them.

Preschool Picnic

I was explaining to Noah that we have his preschool picnic next Tuesday where will meet all the kids he will be going to school with this year.

Me: We need to bring something to eat to the picnic.
Noah: Peanut butter and jellies.
Me: We have to bring something to share will all the people coming.
Noah: I think six peanut butter and jellies.

Lake Travis

Our final stop in Austin was a couple of days at a house we rented near Lake Travis. The Byers and Henn families drove from Houston and Dallas to meet us there. We all met while the guys were in b-school and don't get to see each other enough so it was really nice to catch up and let the little boys have a ball All six of them!

Noah and Jackson hit it off right away, long lost buds. They were so rowdy that they listened to us parents even less than normal.

This picture makes me laugh out loud. Jackson had made a mask out of his tortilla and Noah was trying to copy him...to no avail. :)

S'mores time.

The house rental came with two hotwheels and a long driveway that had a fairly steep incline. I wasn't outside to witness round one of what Noah called "stunt racing" and it is for the best because I am certain that some pretty good injuries could have resulted. We were lucky! :) The guys stood at the end of the driveway to stop the racers and make sure they didn't go into the street. Usually one of the dads also ran beside to help steer if need. It was all very comical.

While in Austin we went to see Kevin, Brennan, Collin and Liam Cruser for dinner and play time. The boys had fun, when there wasn't a train emergency, Kevin and Shawn laughed over political testimonies and Bren and I got eaten alive by mosquitos while trying to keep our little guys safe on the playscape. Well Liam was fine, I was near a heart attack watching Micah the whole time.

Apparently, I am unable to take pictures and talk because whenever I am excited to catch up with friends/family I never end up with any photos. Here are the measly ones I did take.

Liam got a nasty scratch under his eye at preschool that day. Poor thing, but I think they told Bren he provoked it. As his godmother, can I stick with poor thing. :)
Toy room. Trains, Trains, Trains. Enough said.
Love you guys! Hopefully we see you before June 2011 in the Dells. :)

Yoga

This morning Micah was on all fours with his head on the ground and butt up in the air. I asked what he was doing and Noah said, "He's doing down dog." I'm still laughing about that one. Our little yogi.
